Privacy policy

Last updated 23 October 2026

This policy covers the turnout app for iPhone and this website. turnout collects what it needs to run your classes and keep your progress, and nothing for advertising. We don't sell personal data and we don't track you across other apps or websites.

Who is responsible

Ekaterina Pranitchi, Cantianstraße 10, 10437 Berlin, Germany, publishes turnout and is the controller of your data under the GDPR. Write to katya@turnoutballet.app with any question or request about your data.

What the app collects

Your account

You sign in with Apple. Apple gives us an account identifier, an email address (or a private relay address if you chose to hide yours) and, if you share it, your name. We keep an encrypted Apple token so we can revoke Sign in with Apple when you delete your account.

Your profile and practice

Your level, your weekly goal and the goals you pick during onboarding. The classes you complete, with their date, length and, if you allow Apple Health, the active energy you burned. Your place in each program, the classes and combinations you save, and what you make in Studio. We use this to show your progress, suggest what to practise next and keep everything in sync across your devices.

Studio

When you ask Studio for a class or a combination, your request, the recent conversation and the draft you're working on go to OpenAI, which writes the reply. Studio sends no Apple Health data. OpenAI processes this on our behalf, doesn't use it to train its models, and may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse. We keep your Studio conversations and creations with your account.

Apple Health

If you allow it, turnout writes each completed class to Apple Health as a workout, with active energy and heart rate, and reads those same types to credit your practice. Heart rate never leaves your device. Of your Health data, only the active energy total of each completed class reaches our servers, to show in Progress. We never use Health data for advertising or marketing and never share it with anyone else. You can change access at any time in the Health app.

Subscriptions

Apple handles payment. We never see your card details. RevenueCat receives your purchase receipts and an anonymous app user ID so the app knows whether your subscription is active.

Notifications

If you start a free trial and allow notifications, your iPhone schedules one reminder before the trial ends. It is set on your device and sends nothing to us.

What this website collects

Vercel hosts this site and keeps short-lived server logs with your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and stop abuse. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your browser details, the pages you view and an approximate location. Google doesn't store your full IP address. You can block these cookies in your browser or with Google's opt-out add-on.

Who processes data for us

Each works under a data processing agreement. Transfers to the USA rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Legal bases

We process your account, practice, Studio and subscription data to provide the app you signed up for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Apple Health data is processed only with your permission (Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw in the Health app. Website logs and analytics rest on our legitimate interest in running and improving this site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

How long we keep it

We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account in the app (Settings, then Delete my account), we delete your account, profile, practice history, saved items and Studio work, and revoke Sign in with Apple. Copies in backups expire on their normal schedule. Apple keeps its own purchase records under Apple's policy.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, and take it with you in a machine-readable format. Where you gave permission, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to katya@turnoutballet.app. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the one where you live.

Children

turnout is not meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page and tell you in the app when the change matters.
