    Questions

Have I done enough ballet for this?

Barre Foundations assumes you know first, second and fifth position, plié and tendu. Each of these is in the Library on the dancer.

    Do I need a barre?

No. A sturdy chair, a kitchen counter or a windowsill works.

    How long is a class?

15 to 22 minutes for the short version, 30 to 44 for the full one. If you stop partway, you pick up where you left off.

Which method do the courses follow?

The Vaganova method, in the order of Vera Kostrovitskaya's 100 Lessons in Classical Ballet.

How much space do I need?

At the barre, room to stretch one leg out in every direction. Intermediate's centre work needs about two by two metres of clear floor.
